Another hot, sunny day gave way to a cool, windy evening when a thunderstorm approached. The shade and wind felt good but we were all in danger of being caught in a downpour. There was one hell of a lightning show. The rain didn't fall until almost the end of the show. We ran for cover, squeezing under the covered portion of the amphitheater as Arlo played City Of New Orleans. After Prologue, everyone left the stage. They returned a minute later to perform The Motorcycle Song for an encore.

Those of us that didn't have umbrellas or those bright yellow "Mickey" ponchos hung out under the amphitheater roof after the show. Arlo came out for 30 minutes to do autographs and pictures for the stranded.

Hey Arlo, thanks for the rain....

Jeff, Sorry I missed you. I would have liked to thank you personally for the discs you sent me a while back. Did you notice the worse the weather got the faster Arlo played? My wife said Dan looked like the Muppet's Animal trying to keep up on the drums. The setlist for the 06/02 gig was the same except add "Reuben James" and shuffle the order a bit.

Hey John, sorry I missed you. No doubt about it, Arlo was ready to call it a day. The lightning was getting intense.

I have a nice recording of the show. John, or anyone else who wants it, feel free to send me email.
