 Post subject: "Christmas" Show?

Arlo is coming to East Lansing MI in early
December and the show is billed as a Family
Christmas with Arlo Guthrie and also features
the local symphony.

Does anyone out there know how this show
will compare to a "typical" Arlo show, if
there is such a thing!?!? Wondering if it
will be mostly holiday songs or is it just
named that because of the timing?

I don't know if he'll be doing any Christmas songs or not but since it's with the SYmphony I'd assume it'll be like his typical Symphony shows. & Those are great! Image Only time I've ever seen him do Christmas music was at a couple of shows in Nov a couple of yrs. where he did White Christmas on the keyboards & ukelele & PAUSE OF MR CLAUSE. I still don't know if he's doing Christmas music at the gig. If he does do the Christmas music thing there, then he should take it to other states like here in VA & other states so we all see it, Hope someone audio tapes it & send it to Dave & takes 27 8 by 10 color glossy photographs. Image

If you do do the Christmas music thing Arlo, please video tape it & sell it to us all so we can all enjoy it too! Thanks honey! Image

& Have fun at the show!

So what are the symphony shows like?

I have only been to two shows, one at the
State Theatre in Kalamazoo MI a few years
back and then at the Day In The Garden show
at the original Woodstock site. Both of
those shows were what I would call a typical
concert, no particular theme.

That is why I am wondering what this Family
Christmas thing is all about...

I think I have some set lists for a couple Symphony gigs on here. It starts out with the Symphony as the opening act doing a typical symphony show (Seems like forever till he goes on.) Then Arlo comes out & does his show with the Symphony backing him up. You'd think with the symphony it'd be syrupy. But it's not. It's not like a typical Symphony show. He sings his songs backed up by the Symphony & John his conductor does a nice job conducting. Arlo wears his Jimminy Cricket Tux with tails (Yum! He looks so handsome!) & It's great! Trust me you'll have fun! Image I don't recall him having his family at the Symphony before tho.

Have fun! Image
