Concert 1/31/00
Wonderful concert with Arlo, Abe, and Sara.

The Akron show was great.

First half of show was just Arlo & Abe. After intermission, Sara joined them on stage for the rest of the show. Wow - what a great voice.

At the beginning of the 2nd set, Arlo turned the show over to her for one song. She told a funny story in Arlo fashion and did a great job.

Arlo said that she made her solo debut in a coffeehouse near Milwaukee 2 days earlier. Did anyone catch this event? Hearing more from Sara during the concert would be good. Seeing a whole set would be fantastic.

Set 1 included Chill of the Evening, Alice's Restaurant, House of the Rising Son

Set 2 included Inch by Inch, City of New Orleans, an abbreviated Motorcycle Song, Goodnight Irene. There were also a couple of bluesy numbers from the 50's.

There was an encore that was not reported in the paper with This Land is Your Land among others.

I wanted to be there so bad. Every summer we usually go visit hubby Mikes sister in Columbus & sometimes his aunts in KY or OH. We would've gone to this gig had it been in the summer. Just bad timing to have it in Jan when it's too snowy to go that far. Glad some folks had a nice time! I knew you would! After all if you're sitting in my seat, you just gotta have a fun time! Oh yeah! WHat did he wear & did he wear his famous red socks?

Yes he was wearing his red socks. In Oberlin a couple of years ago he wore purple ones. ))

Thanks for the set lists ya'll! In Covington, KY (The Cincy area) in 1991, he had on gray argyle socks with red on them. Purple socks? He must've bought some new socks. LOL! In NC last yr he had on white socks. I told him cuz he didn't have on red socks he was an Arlo clone!
