AMAZING SHOW!AMAZING GRACE!- My daughter and husband strongly encouraged me to attend :( I was not thrilled to go until...it began- I was sitting at a table-right foot propped up- sprained ankle- Good thing or i would have been up dancing around like that blonde woman who had had a bit much to drink-
The concert touched the cockles of my heart - The love & talent were inspirational- I could have listened to -coming into los angeles a trillion times- It's one of my favorites- Thank you Guthrie Family and Arlo thanks for sharing your anniversary with us-
My father & my husband shared that feeling you mentioned when you got past your dad's age- And you sigh a breathe of relief- you made it!
I hope to see you in Stockbridge sometime- And take good care with that rigorous schedule!
-A new victim (newbie) G-d Bless, ellen diane ps. woodstock forever!

Hi Ellen,

I attended the show at Jorgensen last night too! I had fun :) Yes I did see that blonde lady shaking it down walking across the floor to "Coming Into Los Angeles" She would be perfect as a fly girl on stage :) I wonder if that is the same lady that sang "I don't want a pickle" Honestly that was very annoying because she got some attention from Arlo, I came close to walking out! I am glad you had a great time. Arlo's concert make you want to come back again. I kept coming back to see him several times since 2005. Arlo combines his hilarious comedic stories along with his music in which makes it interesting than any other musician in concert. I did not keep a set list in my head I did not have a pen or paper. If I knew better I could have used toilet paper and lipstick to write down a set list. This tour is something that no one will regret.

Peace,
Lorie

Yeah they are more intelligent than dumb blondes because they have no idea what they are drinking even if it is Kool-Aid drunk blondes get loaded. Dumb blonde is the category I fall under, for example I always place a Do Not Disturb sign on my cell phone.

i was at tonight's show (saturday) and although i didn't spot any dancing blondes i am tryyying to remember some recolllection of a set list. here's what i have so far (out of order!) feel free to add or edit! don't know the real names for all the songs. overall the show was terrific. i really liked the mix of all the family members contributions and was amazed at all their incredible voices. was a nice change up from the set list i'd seen on the solo-reunion tour and the previous family tour.

sarah lee & johnny:
lilac
kindness

shit makes the flowers grow

sarah lee & johnny:

"take me to show and tell"
"my dad's shoes"

sarah lee & johnny sang a woody-words song they put to music "folk song".

green green rocky road

birds & ships (sarah lee sang) billy bragg song off Mermaid Ave
airline to heaven - jeff tweedy song from mermaid ave vol2

in times like these

'sleep' (Krishna's song)
pretty boy floyd
gypsy davy
an "animal ballad" about Al the Goose...

city of new orleans
coming into los angeles (with intro story about answering reporter's Q's about his memories of woodstock)

'and i was never alone' (what's the real title of that one?)

this land is your land
my peace

Sounds like "Sailing Down My Golden River", a Pete Seeger song.

"Bring Me Little Water, Sylvie." It's by Leadbelly.

Quote:
Bring me little water, Sylvie
Bring me little water, now
Bring me little water, Sylvie
Every little once in a while

Don't you see me coming?
Don't you see me, now?
Don't you see me coming?
Every little once in a while

Here's a similar version by The Wailing Jennys

Also a female African-American folk group called Sweet Honey In The Rock did this song in something Arlo or Woody related. May have been Folkways a Vision Shared, not sure. & they did a good job of it...

Yup! It's on A Vision Shared. I'm so excited the Guthries are doing it now! It's one of my favorites!

I loved that song and the beautiful harmonies of Guthrie sisters. Sarah Lee sang that with all of her might and the way she grasped the mic was so eccentric. Those two nights were fun, I hope the Guthries come back in another three years. Arlo did not do a meet and greet both nights but the second night Sarah Lee, Johnny, Cathy, Olivia, Serena, and Mo did a meet and greet in which was enjoyable. I had all of them sign my decal, made me happy.
I have a pic from the Daily Campus newspaper of the Guthries. I was very disappointed the Sarah Lee, Johnny and Olivia were not in the photo. The photographer could have taken two pix.
Here is the pic:

Peace,
Lorie
