Hi Dave,

We're not going to be there this year but we have some great friends who are playing... If you go, check out: Dead Letter Chorus, Dan Mangan, Steve Poltz...

Hi Cathy,

Thanks for the heads-up. Just triple checked the programme - they definitely have Folk Uke - "The musical collaboration of Cathie Guthrie and Amy Nelson (yes, the daughters of THE Guthrie and Nelsons)" playing at the Joyluck Club at 1:00pm today Wed 29 Dec 2010. I've been really excited since son told me ... lol.

Ah well .. will check out the Dead Letter Chorus and friends. Thanks again,

... Dave

Fast forward to 2012 - we saw the first of Folk Uke's sets at this years Woodford Folk Festival on Saturday. A big crowd and everyone loved the show. They had the Aussie audience singing along to that naughty song ... lol. Thank you Cathy and Amy ! We could only make it for one day, so going to miss you hosting tonight's 100 Years of Woody celebration - that should be a lot of fun.

The Woodford festival is always a great place to be with a real chilled out atmosphere and a strong theme of sustainable living. It's been getting huge media coverage here in Aus this year. One downside of that is that our Prime Minister decided to visit yesterday after a few other politicians have made the news from there. It's fine if they come to listen to the message of Woodford but a sceptic might worry that it's just to score a TV news sound bite. And it pays to be sceptical around politicians everywhere. Ah well ...

Thank you again Folk Uke. And we can now look to ADG in Aus in February !
