Something happened and I dropped it after my last post. It looks like the video is gone. Maybe we can con Jackie into putting it back up. I need something to work on.

I can't this moment, but I'll sure try when I get home tonight. Got to remember to bring the "office" guitar back to the office!

I'll try to work on it this weekend and we can get up next week and work through the tough spots together. Unfortunately, there are quite a few of them in this beautiful song - tough spots, that is  (Thanks alot, Arlo :P ). But they won't be tough spots anymore after we get 'em! :D

It's that last lick that ends in D that gets me.

Hey Gus, I ran across this - don't know if you do tabs well, but it's helped me a lot. Only problem for me is the tabs run pretty fast, so I had to keep backing up (over and over again!). So with this guy, you can "see" the notes he's doing in that last lick.

Good lick, er....., I mean luck

Oh yeah - I noticed it's called "Haleiwa Farewell," not "Haleiwa Blues"........though I suppose leaving Paradise might give one the blues ....... :D

Thanks Kevin! I'll let you know how it goes. I didn't actually name this forum. That is what I searched for when the link stopped working though.

I've been really practicing this song for about a week now. Been putting it off for too long. And a major part of the learning process for me is to pump the song into my head (and soul) over and over (and over ))))))))))--->) listening to it constantly, literally 50 times or more per day until the tune - every note of it becomes ingrained. In twilight of half-sleep at night and morning I actually visualize my fingers fretting chords and picking strings. Another week and I'll put it on youtube. It sure won't be no Arlo, but after I get the basics of a song down, my "style," developed unconsciously over 40+ years makes it mine. Know what I mean? What a beautiful song!!! Thanks for "catching" this one Arlo!
