My political activism begins and ends with voting. I am not a musician and don't carry a tune very well. However, I woke up one recent evening with your voice in my head, singing this song, and I dutifully jotted it down. It is a hope, stated rather benignly, that a certain presidential candidate would just go away. Just thought I'd share.

Go away, please

Chorus
Go away please, Mr. Donald, go away please Mr. Trump.
Build yourself a tall bridge then go take a flying jump.
Every time I hear you speak I think oh what a shame.
The only thing you’re good at’s giving NYers a bad name.

You’re amoral, you’re a bigot, you’re a blowhard, you’re inane.
If you had any sanity, we’d think you were insane.
It’s clear that thing upon your head has reached into your brain
And pulled out all the common sense and left an empty drain.

Chorus

You’ve got no call, no substance, and no memory at all.
That must be why you write your name in letters big and tall.
So take your name and take your fame, then take all of your wealth,
And hide inside a great big wall you build around yourself.

Chorus

Hoping to see Arlo in Wichita next Saturday. I'm a lifelong fan of Woody and Arlo. My birthday is July 14 and because my dad loved folk music, I've known my whole life that I'm exactly 45 years younger than Woody. I never was able to attend an Arlo show until about 10 years ago. There have been several I missed since then due to multiple series of unfortunate events, but this will be my 4th (I think). So 2 questions, is Arlo playing Deportees at any of the shows? My favorite of all Arlo favorites. Next, are there ever any "meet and greets" after the shows? And if so, how do you sign up? To sum up, I wish we could change our National Anthem to "This Land is Your Land"...

Haven't heard Arlo do "Deportees" in a long time. Here's a great cover of it by a guy who is considered to be a premier interpreter of WWG's songs:

He didn't do Deportees at Tulsa Sunday night. I agree, it's a great song.
