Arlo, do you perhaps have any memory of where you may have been and what you may have been doing 45 years ago on this date ? Of course if you do, it may mean that you were not there......

On this date, 45 years ago, I was trying to remember what I was doing 45 years from then on that, er, this date. I am aware that back then (I shouldn't have used the term "back," but .....) Celery Time hadn't been discovered yet, but still, it's all "NOW" just the same, isn't it? I mean, before gravity was discovered it was still alive and kicking, right? So, I'm sticking to the "45 years ago on this date I was trying to remember what I was, am, doing today on this date, which is trying to remember what I was doing on this date 45 years ago" thingy. Whew!

I was already a little too old for Woodstock (27); was living in a $110/month one bedroom apartment in Queens trying to get enough money together to "move on up" to the suburbs with my wife and one year old son. 60's kind of passed me by, as I was either in college or in the service or married and being "responsible" for most of the decade. My son would make up for my missing the 60's by carrying on like it was 1969 throughout the 80's!

I was born in march of 1957, so even though I am 6 months older than the space age( The first man made thing shot into space was the fall of 1957 ) As a 12 and half year old kid, I was to young to go to the original Woodstock. Something I made up for later in 1999 when I attended the 30th reunion , with many of you.

I was too young to go but remember listening to it on the radio and liking stuff like 1,2,3 What Are We Fighting For by Country Joe and the Fish.

I was 19, in college at Cameron College, Lawton, OK. Wasn't much interested in the "movement", although I did like folk music more than my buddies. I was planning on a career in the Army, but that didn't work out. I guess in that respect I'm the black sheep of the family.
