I went to one of the revival shows at the church last month (incredible show, by the way.) I picked up the new CD at the merch booth (incredible cd, by the way). I'm a Dad to 5 year old twin boys with special needs. They don't take kindly to Dad listening to HIS music in the car. It's usually no music, or soundtrack stuff to kids movies. But, Here Come the Kids has been in the player since that weekend. They love the stories as much as the songs... We were lounging around this afternoon and they broke into the Motorcycle Song. Which put a big smile on my face. Luckily, my wife grabbed the camera and we got an encore.

So, today was declared Pickle Day and one of the boys started singing something that was NOT the "Pickle Song" and got assaulted.

Thanks for the music, Mr. Guthrie!

I had a similar experience with my youngest, he listened to Alice's Restaurant then for days after kept asking how did the chorus go again?
Keep sharing

New member here. I'm old enough to have played Alice's Restaurant when it was the most requested song I played (1969-1976 I think).
But the reason I'm writing is that I lived the Motorcycle song. No, I wasn't doing 150mph, I was doing about 20. But I did go off the "other side"; in the foothills of the Sierra. I went thru a "turn" sign (yellow with the big black arrow), carromed off a granite outcropping, flew down a 40-foot drop, through barbed wire and into a cow pasture. Yes, I landed in one. Yech!
Take my word for it: even though the motorcycle is called a "Gold Wing", they don't fly worth a damn!!!
And I didn't even get a pickle!!! Well, other than the one I put myself in!
