Maybe this is old news, but I wonder if Arlo is aware that he is being incorrectly credited as the writer of City of New Orleans, in of all places, one of those trays at an airport security check-point. I mean the ones you empty your pockets into before going through the detector. .

It's a strange world we live in, and dumping my wallet, phone, etc. into the tray at Orlando ariport and seeing the quote "'I'll be gone 500 miles when my day is done' Arlo Guthrie" was a weird moment.

The company is called Security Point Media. The tray ad didn't seem to be pitching any product, just the company itself.

Love Arlo. Loved the late Steve Goodman. Don't love Security Point Media.

Arlo is known for having a popular hit record with that song...so, if they're quoting the hit song as their source for the line, they're correct. Top 40's stations didn't talk much about just who wrote the songs they played back in the '70's, so people remember those words coming from Arlo in the song. We know Steve Goodman wrote that song...but the public remembers Arlo singing it.
