I must add to the list, one of the all time great folk music stars, your friend and mine, and heck Arlo's friend too, Donavan.

Let us also remember Bob, RJ, or Mr Zimmberman as well

I have an old lp of his I bought at a junk store for 50c as a teen. A few yrs after they were out folks would tire of their records sell them cheap to junk stores. Image

That is a sad story, Cheryl, but one I have heard before. Why are some of our most talented artists so under-appreciated? Image

Wouldn't it be great to be out in the woods in an open field, maybe with 500 of your close friends, and there to have fun and to enjoy each other, Arlo, Pete, Woody, Donavan, Melanie, Joan, Mamas and papas, Simon and Garfunkle, Bob, and we could of course add others, but don't forget your blankets and pic-nic baskets.

just came across some donovan albums turned into cd's at Barnes & Nobles the other day... took a lot of willpower to not buy them on the spot... but I'll probably go back in a few days and pick them up... for some reason, I get the feeling they'll still be there waitin' for me... hurdy gurdy man, and barabajagal (my fave!)

The lock upon my gate is a snail that's what it is....I so love that and the story of Atlantis, mind you I have only been diving on the west coast but I think being under the sea is the same where ever you are.

Don't forget Steve Goodman and Townse Van Zant!!!
I remember the day Steve Goodman died...I was somewhere on a Florida road and had to pull over when I heard it on the radio. I had to just sit and think of his wonderful-ness and let a few tears flow....

Hi Nathen...Arlo sang a Townes Van Zant song with Nanci Griffith on her CD "Other Rooms, Other Voices"..."Techumpsa Valley" (I'm probably clobbering the spelling...but you can look it up.) That is a great CD, by the way. Townes also wrote "Poncho and Lefty". He has sort of sad undertones in all his stuff, but it's sooo beautiful, touching.
