Folk legends to play benefit in New York for
proposed Folk Music Museum.

Folk legends Pete Seeger, Odetta, Judy Collins and recent
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee John Sebastian will
appear at a benefit concert Wednesday night (JUNE 14) in New
York's Cooper Union Great Hall. The event is intended to raise
funds for a proposed Folk Music Museum in Greenwich
Village. The project is being spearheaded by former Village
Gate club owner Art D'Lugoff with consultation from Woody
Guthrie's daughter Nora Guthrie, who runs the Woody Guthrie
Archives in Midtown. ...

Besides featuring Joan Baez and Jackson Browne on a duet of "Guantanamera," the upcoming Appleseed album The Songs of Pete Seeger Volume II also will feature Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie singing "66 Highway Blues," a never-recorded song Seeger wrote with Arlo's father, Woody Guthrie. Other artists on the album include Billy Bragg, Tom Paxton and Eric Anderson. ...
