Here is a little snippet from the article:

Quote:
MOUNT KISCO — Nora Guthrie and Anna Canoni, daughter and granddaughter of American folk singer Woody Guthrie, have spent years sorting, sifting and organizing the thousands of pages of written words and pictures that were amassed by him and others during his 55 years.

Remembered as a rambling man who crisscrossed the country, Woodrow Wilson Guthrie became an icon of American culture.

His creative legacy is leaving a Mount Kisco office with limited public access and heading to his home state of Oklahoma to be part of a new research center and public performance and exhibit space.

“His voice is timeless. He speaks for everyman. There is something that connects to each of us through his music. To essentially be the platform that everyone can hear him and be a part of it professionally is amazing — and to be a part of it as family is very special,” said Canoni, 33, who since 2003 has been in charge of programs and events at WoodyGuthrie.org. Her grandfather died in 1967 in New York City of complications from a neurological disorder, Huntington’s disease.

Canoni said she and her mother are pleased the documents will have a new and expanded home.
