Just doing the rounds after Pete's passing to see if there was anything interesting and saw Dave's theocentric crap, so I responded. I hate theocentric crap! The thread starts as an amazement at the fact that so many believe theocentric crap followed by Dave's little theocentric outburst.

even though there is a connection, i think the planet would outlast us,,,if we are not careful we may destroy ourselves?

Ya they do say the planet has about 4 billion + years before ends up in the sun. Something about this planet means more then could be explained.

well, the earth can tolerate dust storms and such better than we can. it just does what it does, and itself can endure a lot. we, on the other hand, would have a hard time tolerating some of the things the earth would "just do" (in reaction to some human choices for instance)

i posted an interesting conversation about dust storms (from youtube) on the polar vortex 50 thread

i will post it again here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQhP8NZi5t8

not only does it matter though, how we interact with the planet, but also how we interact with each other.

and i am not talking about a world that is "pleasantville" like, or "stepford" like. i think we all know it is more complex than that.

while we are at it (look at us go!) , i just heard about this today. it is a two and a half or so hour debate which i only managed to watch a couple snippets of. here is a short piece on it to listen to, (just under 4 mins) if you are interested.

http://www.npr.org/2014/02/05/271873763 ... st-ken-ham

an interesting commentary here

the entire debate is also here (i am kind of curious, but i am not sure when i'll get around to watching it. )

Guess the next form of evolution is back to dust for all that existences. I think not.-(That phrase always has puzzled me...did not say, "I not think.")

i guess what i have tried to say at times is, that sometimes people are so caught up in racking up points for the afterlife, kissing up to certain ideologies 'just in case', that they end up being cruel in the long run.

Some of those ideologies have still ended up with an effect on my mind's eyes. Only fleetingly lately. With only 2 original teeth up top, at age 56, god better protect his mouth for my fist would...eh never mind. Hurt but be worth it.
