A proud day indeed, what is wrong with these people?
The Democrats who voted against the amendment:
Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.)
Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska)
Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.)
Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.)

Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) voted against it for procedural reasons as Senate rules will allow him to bring up the measure again.

Only 4 Republicans?
Republicans who voted for the amendment:
Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine)
Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.)
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.)
Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.)

America, land of the assault rifle!

Oh sorry...America, land of the modern sporting rifle! MY MISTAKE!

Hey Kevin,

Thanks for letting me exhibit my AR. Not to be confused with the AR-15!

Pretty sure I can self diagnose my OCD too! But you know I'd never hope to make you feel defensive.

With 30,000 to 40,000 Americans killed by gun violence every year, you would think this would be something both parties would want to work towards stopping.

We gave up and will continue to give up so much freedom to fight terrorisim, this huge fear card played for so long, and so costly in both money and lives, yet they don't give a crap about gun violence?

Kick 'em to the curb as soon as possible. Lead, or get out of the way!

"Defense" was just a figure of speech, word choice.

As one of my clients revealed to me: "I don't have OCD, I have CDO."
Me: "What's that? I've never heard of it."
Client: It's pretty much the same as OCD, except the letters are arranged in alphabetical order. LIKE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE!!!"

Go figure.

just a thinking out loud moment

i know it is important to keep aware of (keep an eye on) what is going on in "the political world", but i sometimes wonder how politics in general relates to what is real... politics often seems like pretty gift wrap paper

oh i can understand why you would call it "not really all that pretty", but i am equating "pretty gift wrap paper" with so much rhetoric that i hear (as in a presentation), but what is the real substance of the matter?
that is what i meant by wondering sometimes how politics in general relates to what is actually real.
the process seems very convoluted.

^I remember hearing it said there is all of us and only one of them. What's/who's more important.

Love the CDO Kevin.

i don't think i understand your meaning here (considering context, and everything).

is it maybe a 99% vs 1% reference (as having to do with the occupy movement) ?
