"This place" is one of my favorite places in the world to hang out. Some folks tell me to "get a life." I have a life here, and a dang good one it is! It's kind of like the tree-fort we had as kids......a special place full of laughter, tears, magic, adventure.......and most of all friends. Lots of them. they're (you're) the kind of friends who are friends that agree with me on things and disagree with me on things. These common and diverse perspectives make for the strongest kind of bonds. Yeah Gus, thanks Arlo. Thanks Dave. Thanks everybody in this crazy tree-house. I love this place too........

Agreed, Kevin. Pete is an example to all of us of how to live a full life, and live it well. He reminds me of Emerson in that.

And, yes, this is a nice place.

But, back to the libertarians, it's always good to have more voices, but they lost me about 30 years ago when the local lib candidate for mayor or city council or something announced that he wanted to use tax $$ to build a parking garage.

I have always been interested in the geolibertarians (http://geolib.pair.com/), but we don't see to have many of those here, if any.

Yet another amazing mid term election, one more for the books. Crying Republicans pledging to ensure that America will stand around with its finger up it's bum while we end this "war on success". It sure seemed like it was a war on success that got Obama elected in the first place (I guess it depends on where you stand on the success-o-meter scale, I guess?). I am as confused as ever because fiction and reality tend to have blended into absurdity and yet I still just get up everyday and go to a job that confirms all my notions of an existence in delusion.

The networks are overcrowded. It reminds me of when just about anyone could pass a bar exam. They become a lawyer and then what? I recall complaining they should make the exam harder. What does a state need with 30,000 lawyers anyway? It just promotes ambulance chasers of all sorts...

As the election swirled into nothing more than a re-balance, I couldn't help feel sorry for all the network salmon swimming upstream, grabbing at any hope to stand out, to break a story that mattered. Much ado about nothing. And nothing to do with reality, as noted.

Its a re-balance.

Hi agnes, Im not sure what you mean. What I am thinking is that there are too many pundits, news sites, channels , websites all in competition or swimming upstream to save thier job (life of a salmon).
As a result, reality gets blurred with pseudoreality or TV reality. What is really happening in Washington is not being projected into the living rooms of America b/cuz sensational network ratings are at play. Yeah we all know this .. so how to regroup? rethink?

You know the old saying about, when you find yourself in a hole you want to get out of, the FIRST thing to do is to put down the shovel and quit digging?

I have found myself in the same hole you are talking about, and finally I just changed the channel, or better yet, turned the damn thing off :!: ........Then switched on the Blunderboard
