I do find it interesting that the only locally published commentary on Wisconsin this past weekend was OReilly calling the teachers of Wisconsin lazy unionist parasites that have a proven track record of incompetence. As amazing as it may seem, this will be the primary source of "opinion" on this subject throughout the region. Maybe 42 is an approximation of the magic number?

I run into those fans of fox on fb where I try and battle them with reason. Most are just full of name calling.

thank you for this thread

Libertarianism is the poorly thought out philosophy of the Republican Party. It can be summarized in 3 simple words Me, Myself and I despite the voluminous writings of Ayn Rand. I don't believe this was what Woody was about.
Please watch Citizens at the Capital buildings of St. Paul, MN and Madison, Wisconsin singing one of Woody's song, and fighting Fascists they way he'd love to see if he were still among us.

Thurstan, thanks for that Woody "This land is our land not the oil company song.

In this boiling melting pot, it seems to me as if there are good ideas from all sides.

The trash shall be boiled away and we will use what is constructive from all.

This homemade Arlo song Satellite seems like a good idea today.

Lets all just take some days off from work to shut this broken promised land down until we find something to work for all of mankind here in this 21st Century.

I think it's cool that people are at least talking about stopping those idiots. Propaganda at it's best.

I've not chimed in for a while but I couldn't agree more.. With the current economy I think that most folks can agree that the individual states have had to rely less and less on federal government assistance and become more self sustainable. State budgets for public service departments, teachers and social seservices are suffering. I see a Libertarian governed society as going back to the old wild west and the bad lands.

That article has a lot of hyperbole. So as journalism goes, it's suspect. That aside, what are the facts? Is Fox blocked from broadcasting in Canada? Is Harper attempting to repeal the regulation? Are there any validation measures (public and transparent) applied by the regulators under the authority of the government that can be applied to other information resources?

Say, "moo".

will spot reach the farmer's house in time? will the farmer get back in time to milk the cows?? will the cows allow themselves to be milked???
anyhow...

i found the article interesting but not without slant,,,but some of what i found interesting was the part about the fairness doctrine,,,that was repealed by ronald reagan's...people (?) (sorry just got in..a wee bit tired) in 1987. "fox news north" is what i understand another name for sun tv...
and the thing about modifying the "a licenser may not broadcast...any false or misleading news" thing was of interest to me.
