I hope McSame keeps opening his mouth. For it seems his foot keeps getting stuck in it.

contradictory double speak is just another one of them tools in the politicians toolbelt. I don't know of any politician in the world that won't show a little crack on this one!

Great post. he is beginning to sound more and more like our current president. The only diffference between McCain and Bush is that McCain at least has better grammer. Although I do have to admit that I was a McCain supporter during the last presidential election but I fortunately changed my mind and voted democratic. What made me change my mind was that he flipflopped on his decisions. What he said he was going to do as a president and what he was going to do for this country is not the way he was voting during the campaign. I don't by the Obama lack of experience stump that the McSame group is trying to push either. Obama does have twelve years experience in government and he is a very intelligent person. I wasn't for Obama in the beginning but he is winning over my confidence more and more every day. Again, thank you for the link. I found it interesting.
-Eric

Bill Moyers pointed out, some time ago, that Obama has more experience under his belt than Abe Lincoln had when he took office.

So my BBC feed just made me aware he has picked the Mrs someone (44 year old Gov of Alaska as his running mate).......the experience issue has just evaporated. She seems quite attractive though,.....and what's this with McCains wife showing her cleavage all the sudden ? Perhaps the republicans are stupider than I thought (collectively......leadership that is,...no offense to any in the Elephant camp here,....we know your there), but the sense of desperation is getting absurd......the VP debates should be quite interesting. Obama is going to have to do something really dumb to lose this one.

so McSame wanted Joe, but the far right bible bashers got him in a room and made him change his mind? gosh! not such a maverick after all?

Just heard Joe speak here at the Convention (on Lehrer). No matter how I feel about her politics, I was very disappointed that when he mentioned Palin someone in the crowd gave a wolf whistle. To me that's just as insulting as telling Hils to "do my ironing"

Suggested on Maher's Real Time last Friday: Since apparently it's all they cared about, they should just print bumper stickers that say "McCain/Vagina."

Some of the wiser liberal/progressive heads are cautioning that we not be too jubilant about what we think is a bad choice on their part, and warning that we should not assume this means it will be easier to win. The masses won't see her the way we do, and those R's DO know how to spin shit into silk.

This is what I have observed casually since the announcement, as well. People say to me, "aren't you happy?" and I just look at them and want to say, "Do you take me for so shallow?"

No, in my estimation, it takes a lifetime of accomplishments more than a couple of X chromosomes to be the considered the best candidate.

But I am not surprised by the Republican choice. This is afterall, a group who had never appreciated the political strength of HRC to begin with, so the circuitous logic is there (sorry , Larry , had to throw that in.)

Many Americans never got past the gender issue, indulging in superficiality before substance, choosing to speak to her appearance over her intelligence and experience in Washington. This is the mentality we are dealing with, and thus would not surprise me if Republicans thought we only saw Hillary as female, so any female would do. So sad.
