Horrible, isn't it? I am supposed to carry one of these but my insurance refused to pay for the testing that would get me the prescription so I never got one, let alone any additional I would need. Thank goodness the food allergies I have are something I can actually SEE in food or on it and I know when to avoid. And I do ask a lot of questions if I eat out, anywhere, which is very seldom. But for these poor kids with peanut allergies and other life threatening allergies where they are unable to see the food that could kill them, this is a disaster and just awful!

I think it is a greed factor. I read something yesterday and I don't remember where but the woman who is the head of this company that manufactures these epi-pens got a huge raise??? Lemme go see if I can hunt that down.

OK, a quick search brought up a lot of news articles, similar to this one. $16 MILLION dollar per year raise??

i am thinking that instead of planting superficial ornamental landscape to compensate for so much concrete being placed along the 'urban sprawl'…. really, must you? and displacing so many animals…and you wonder why they consume your gardens….it wasn’t like this just a few years ago. maybe at least consider planting vegetation that will actually be useful beyond just being window dressing. at least! for example (and just a small example) plant crab apple trees of various varieties along the way to compensate for all the destruction of the animals food sources, which drive them into your backyards! just one example.

but then you will have to examine your approach, period.

this is just the tip of the iceberg!

edited to add:

and if you think i am talking about deer only, or predominantly, i am not. i am talking about birds and squirrels and such, who before fairly recently seemed to have enough to go around, and we humans had plenty to share with our neighbors from our gardens, but now the animals have been forced into the only refuges they can find.
