Agnes,

Please forgive my manners. It's a pleasure to meet you.

I was born and raised in Chicago. I love music and have enjoyed Arlo's various artistic gifts most of my life. I've seen him perform several times through the years. Hope to again one day soon.

Love the lifestyle, love the music.

hello tallyjanice

nice to meet you too.

we wound up learning more about mongolian etiquette on the other thread than i realized we would on the tails of such a whimsical post. as i was reading through what you found, i was seeing, as i have from time to time, how one person's proper etiquette, might be another's faux pas. anyway, i haven't any special powers over the boards either, i just come here and post stuff....i think the other section of the boards we were on is set up a little differently than most of the rest of the place. i am under the impression that pretty much everyone has the same posting abilities (?) (aside from moderators and such). (to address what you were saying about posting abilities)

the first time i saw arlo was in the mid/to later 80s, and it was also the first time i ever heard the song alice's restaurant (while i had heard some others of his songs)....the first i ever heard it (A.R.) was him singing it live which is kind of funny, and it was funny! it was kind of like a musical snowball! i loved it.

The first time I saw Arlo was in the late sixties at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago.

Yep, I go way, way, way back. Those were the days :)

Hello Agnes,

I imagine your Greek friend was very interesting. I, for one enjoy listening to stories of times gone by and find the Greeks to be excellent story tellers.

It sounds like you were blessed with a very special friend.

I removed the Popeye comment. I really don't mean to be insensitive, it's my attempt at being light hearted. In retrospect, I truly regret my blunder.
