After 26 years with Amtrak, John C. has finally accepted a nomination for American Train Dispatcher Association ATDA, as local Chairman.

The vote will be counted March 6, 2010. I wanted you all to know because I am so proud of him and I knew he would never toot his own horn...(train horn of course).

So head the good vibes down your local trax...John is so honest, unselfish, (and schmart!) I know he will do a great job if he wins!

Congratulations John!!

Train people are the best, we've had two of our grandfathers on the rails - one was a lifelong conductor who was head of his union at one point, the other was an engineer on the Southern Pacific started out back just before the Depression hit, he had lots of hobo stories and everything, let's just say he was not beholden to management :)

I see this as a very good sign for Amtrak; they're getting this SO RIGHT! There couldn't be a better, more knowledgeable, or more qualified Amtrak employee to represent his colleagues. :D

I agree, Sheila, my grandfather also worked in the Railway as an engineer and he was very proud of his steam locomotive! :)
