The Guthrie Center needs your help...and it won't cost you anything!

Berkshire Bank is sponsoring a grant program, "Join the Excitement", which will award a $5,000 grant to a non-profit in Berkshire County! The voting is open to lawful United States residents who are at least 18 years old. One vote per person.

Please visit http://www.jointheexcitement.com to register and vote. Or you can mail your entry on a 3 x 5 handwritten card. Just write or type "Join the Excitement Grant", your name and the Guthrie Center, your age, complete address (city, state, zip code), home and business phone numbers (including area code) and email address (if any) and mail your card in a sealed envelope to:

Berkshire Bank Foundation
Berkshire Bank
PO Box 1308
Pittsfield, MA 01202-1308

Mail entries must be received by January 31, 2010. On-line voting ends January 31, 2010 at 4:00 PM EST.

OK.. I voted!

You have to follow the links to get to the page where you vote... let's see if this works for a more direct link:

http://www.berkshirebank.com/about_us/i ... away-20000

And they need the address of the Guthrie Center, too... here it is, if you don't already know it:

4 Van Deusenville Road
Great Barrington, MA 01230

It may be rude but I posted it to Arlo's FB Fan page too. I really don't want to go back to Great Barrington and find a quickie mart on that corner. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but that Church is more than Alice, more than Arlo, more than the Guthries. It's living proof that people can be good to one another and that is how we get through whatever we must. Call that noobieness but that's the idea that keeps me going.

I'm not in Mass either. Didn't see anything about having to live there to vote.

No worries....every vote counts as long as it is from a permanent resident of the U.S. who is 18 years old!

No really!!! Florida routinely has voting situations that make you feel like you're in a "Twilight Zone" episode, especially in rural places like where I live......
