I could go for blue if it's peacock blue ... electric purple, too. Or even electric (peacock) green, maybe. Fire engine red. (Heh heh) I don't know. I never did anything (except henna, occasionally, and then usually neutral henna) to my hair until my forties. But I did work for/with one band who used to all dye their hair the same different color for each gig...They were all considerably younger than I was at the time, too. (I was a mature 'older' woman of 27; they were mostly around 20 - 21 or so.)

Pat, what's this about job hunting? Nothing serious, I hope. (And isn't it when hair gets to the salt and pepper stage that those rinses for grey hair start making it look good?) BTW, I keep running into banner ads for 440 in all the right places. Nice promo job, whoever's doing it.

I am really pondering cutting my hair dramatically. It's quite long, and I've worn it the same way for a couple years now. It's not really that long, however, because when I saw Willie Nelson last week, he made me look bald!
I wanted to highlight it, or do something, but I'm reluctant. I'm so low maintenance, that I don't want to ruin my integrity.
Oh, well...lol

Forgive me for rambling...

Kerry, that's why henna was put on earth ... It's mostly a great conditioning treatment for your hair -- the fact that it adds color and shine is nice too, but it only stays in for six weeks or so. There are also the rinses (like Natural Instincts), that let you do something to your hair without making the permanent commitment of a dye.
Go for it! Specially with the henna, which does come in different colors if you want to play around a little, but you can keep telling yourself it's natural and mostly a conditioner ... That's how I got around it, anyway.

With all the talk of hair...some friends and I have been growing our hair to the length required to donate to Locks of Love, a non-profit group making wigs for kids with illness-related hair loss. We plan to chop it off in July. I've actually been enjoying the mane so far. I'll miss it when it's gone.

That's a little like George W. Bush getting his brain removed.....I mean who would notice?

Anna, what a cool thing to do! I haven't heard of Locks of Love--what a neat concept. I'd like to hear more about them.

Locks of Love is a really cool organization. They make custom-fitted wigs for children with illness-related hair loss who couldn't otherwise afford them. Wigs of real hair are quite expensive, so this is one way to help the kids. The cool thing about this group is that most of the donated hair comes from other children - 80%. They take all hair colors, permed, whatever. They need 10 inches minimum. More info is available on their web site -- www.locksoflove.org
Everytime I go to get my hair cut (a rare event in the first place) they go on and on about how much hair I have....so I decided to put the stuff to good use.
Just call me Rapunzel.

Do they also offer short wigs for women who are troubled by hair loss?

I have donated twice. I am growing my hair to donate again. It is an easy way to help/give back.
