tara has recently learned that she is being promoted again and will be the operations director for MA, CT and RI for her company. mom and dad are very proud and happy for her! needless to say, this means she has to move away and we'll miss her, but worcester, ma isn't too far. Image

thanks, guys..i'll tell her. btw, larry...i think she is trying to take over her company, at least. she's had 3 promotions in the year and half she's been there. everytime she gets one, she sets her eyes on the next level and damned if it doesn't happen in 6 months. i asked her if she told the VP that just promoted her that she's eyeing his job now. she just smirked and said..not yet. she's been telling me from the beginning that she's going to be president of this company someday...i've been laughing at her. i'm not laughing anymore.. that's great news deb, kudos to tara!

of course, tell her to watch out... more than one bright, energetic, enterprising young person has found her/him self promoted right out of a job... it's just a matter of finding that right length of rope... Image

Congratulations to Tara! It's nice when the kids do well, especially since we're probably moving in with them in our old age. Anyway, go Tara!

So....it seems that maybe it's up to Tara to fund and run "Mooseland", the blunderite retirement community that we are building across the street from the church? Cool. Thanks Tara! We ALL plan to move in there when (if?) the social security checks start rolling in.

that's great deb, what does Tara's company do, generally?
Maybe she can steer her company toward, a venture capitol investment in a start-up, senior citizen facility, in Western Mass, & ouila! "Mooseland"!! heeheheh
Larry can provide background, for the prospectus,
"Herding Senior Cats, A Growth Industry"

thanks to all! i'll print this out so tara can see the congrats herself. she runs through here every once in a while on her way to somewhere else...at least, for the next couple of weeks. i'll tell her to take to heart your advice, arnie...but i really think this might be the last promotion for a while. of course, i thought that last time..

bumper...tara's company (smart corp) is one that hospitals contract out to do their medical records correspondence. basically, the short version of tara's job is to work with the marketing people to secure new sites in those states, then set them up, hire people, train them, etc...then keep the sites happy by solving any issues that arise...and do the payroll and other paperwork involved. when things are running smooth, it's a pleasant job..travel around..go to meetings, etc. of course, it never really runs smoothly...like the rest of life...so she usually spends a lot of time "fixing" things.

don't know if we can get this to somehow figure in to mooseland...except they might come take care of our medical records, but maybe i shouldn't show this to her. i mean, do we want her "warned" that we're all going to descend on her in a few years?

sure, Deb, show this to Tara. I'm sure she's aware, all venture capitol activities have a few "downsides"...this one just happens to bea herd of aging, boomer, "Cat-erwalling" blunderites, but then, we do have our charm & and are quite entertaining..
Tara, you go, girl!
