there was plenty that was useless, sure. but it was not pure hate. and i liked the statements about muslims not being our enemies. that was important.

you don't need to explain your perception to me...

you need to perceive your explanation...

i've come to realize that i'm in this world,
but i am not of this world.

i aint marching anymore.

I recognize the tower of babel as the symbol of penetration.
the symbol of the moment when mans desire to be close to god
was so intense that he invaded his dreams.

I have to admit that I am profoundly disturbed by the use of spirituality to back up the President's and the nations reserve, sens of righteousness in retaliating- I think playing that card is dangerous on SOOOOOOOO many levels-
Religious freedom is a right to be defended- but to use God/Allah/Buddha/Freya/Odin/Mother Mary/Saint Christopher etc....
in any way to justify war, military action is aksing for problems- I would say that it is like putting oneself in the same place as the terrorists
it is hubris to on any theological ground to assume that whatever spiritual power that you happen to believe in is behind you just because you would like that spiritual power to be behind it
Once upon a time "god" said it was okay to burn entire villages full of European witches too-
it may seema small point to some- but i have a real problem with the frivolity and irresponsibility with which spiritual references are being used in the RHETORIC OF WAR

that is of course a criticism on both sides

nuff said - I think I am done ranting now- thanks

i am going back to my yams After all that I need to do something a little lighter

Scoundrels have hidden behind God since there were scoundrels. And that is a long time.

Bush's speech was on all over the art school. It was coming from the TV in the cafe, cars in the parking lot, radios in the buildings, it was ambient. It was wafting through the air. (Does anyone else think that the second worst thing about all this is getting stuck with THAT president to have to rally behind?)

Now this lady (who I had always liked before) is going on and on... "I don't care who it would kill, we should have just started bombing every day, every single day, like what happened to Germany, just every day more bombs." Now I (always being willing to walk into a buzz saw) say, "And that accomplishes what?"

Silence. A room full of intelligent artists falls silent. Like, "Oh my Gawd, first they blow up the World Trade Center, and now there's one of THEM in my art class." I couldn't paint and the teacher had to calm me down. I was practically in tears. Why do I always run afoul of the PC Police?

OK, so things progress, I go for coffee a couple of hours later, and in the cafe the TV is still on and maybe 2 people are watching it. I can't see the front... it's pointed away from me. Someone on TV is shouting, insanely, "And I wanna break 'em in two! I wanna pulp 'em into blood and eat 'em!!!! I wanna get 'em before they get me!!!!!" I'm thinking, "Yow, where did the news find THIS guy, I wanna see HIS face..."
So I go around to the front of the TV. It's the World Wrestling Federation.

Sure sounded like the news to me.
